Job description:
preoperative Care: Prepare the operating room, equipment and supplies for surgery.
Patient assessment: conduct thorough assessments of patients, including medical histories and vital signs, to ensure readiness for surgery.
Emergency response: Be prepared to assist in emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions when required.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice.
Team collaboration: work closely with surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Infection control: Strictly follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe surgical environment.
Qualifications:
· Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an ODP.
· Previous experience as an ODP
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
· Able to work closely with multi-disciplinary team
· Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
